It’s Easter and yes, I do love Peeps and jelly beans…but that is not what I celebrate. I’m celebrating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I think that in the past, I have mostly focused on the salvation that the cross represents. Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins. And I am so thankful for that.

This year, I’m also thinking about the cross as a visual representation of love.  Love is why Christ died. For me – and for you. He love each one of us so deeply, so completely, so fully that he sacrificed himself to make a way for us to go to heaven.

This kind of love, described in Ephesians 3:17-19, is hard to grasp:

Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.  May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

If you don’t know the love and salvation that comes from knowing Christ, please ask Rafael and I about it. We would love to tell you about it!
