Rafa has always been so good to me. So good. But lately, he’s been extra good. Or I’ve been extra needy. I’m not sure which. Either way, I have just been reminded over and over how lucky I am that he loves me.
He drove me home to Iowa for Thanksgiving, even though it meant spending four hours in the car one day and seven hours the next. Rafa even let me sleep a little, even though he was tired too. He also asked his mom to watch Hawkie during our travels. Hawkie was a good boy on the way over to Plymouth.
On Saturday, we went to Mauston, Wis., to go and get my car. He was willing to spend six hours on the road, no questions asked. It was good to be with him, but not an awesome road trip. But I do have my car back now, so that’s a good outcome.
He’s been doing things around our house too. He fixed the fence (unfortunately someone broke it again, but that is a different story) and has been fixing the things I break, like the dryer starter thingie. He also put together my itso set that is turning a hole in our hallway into another closet for when he moves in.
If it sounds like I’m bragging, I am. What kind of guy cooks for you, rescues you when you’re stranded, endures hours on the road with you, busts out his tool belt for you… all within a week, wearing an amazing smile the whole time? My guy, that’s who 🙂
